Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

The slow cooker makes the best, most tender, shredded beef you could ever have! Add the ingredients, let the slow cooker work!

True story, when I was younger, every time I had to have beef, of any sort (besides like a burger), I could not CHEW it. I would sit at the table long after everyone was done because my mom told me I could not get up until I finished chewing it. (thankful for my mom ingraining non-picky eating habits into my head!) For some reason the tender beef was just too much for my little mouth to swallow and I just had the toughest time!

Now I have no problem eating a yummy filet mignon or steak, BUT, if I can make a pulled or shredded beef recipe I am there right away!

Thankfully, ButcherBox sent me high quality sirloin steak tips and I was able to come up with a great recipe to make them in the crock pot! The great part about this recipe is that you can add the beef to many different things!

What Ingredients Do You Need For The Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

Sirloin Tips â€“ I used Butcher Box Grass-Fed. I love their products you can just tell they are BETTER, click here to get a great deal on your first box!!

Onion chopped â€“ This gives the beef an amazing flavor, I recommend you chop it up small!

Beef Base (Better Than Bouillon) â€“ and water – I love using this stuff! You just add the base to water and it is just like a beef broth!

Ground Thyme – Add this to any soup, stew roast,… you will never regret it

Ground Sage â€“ This spice reminds me of what sausage tastes like! It is so good.

How Do You Make Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

As I said earlier, we take the easy way out and let the crock pot do all of the work!

  1. Start by heating up a pan with some oil or cookie spray, add the chopped onion and saute. Once cooked add sirloin tips and brown both sides!
  2. Add the beef and onion into the crock pot.
  3. Add the bouillon base, 1 1/2 cup of water, thyme and sage.
  4. Cook on low for 4 hours!
  5. Remove, shred with two forks, and enjoy!
Can You Store The Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

Yes, once the beef is shredded and cooled you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week!

What To Have With The Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

There are so many options!! Here are our faves.

Tacos / Tostadas: I love to add the shredded beef to toasted thin corn tortillas topped with salsa, cheese, light sour cream, and lettuce!!

Over Pasta: Add to pasta with a light sprinkle of parmesan cheese… YUM

On A Sub Roll: Nothing like a good pulled beef sandwich, you can even add barbecue sauce for a pulled bbq brisket vibe!!
