Chocolate Acai Bars (CBDa Infused)

These chocolate acai bars are the perfect CBD dessert recipe. If you are not familiar with CBD, I have something even better than that for you. CBDa infused acai chocolate bars layered with a crumbly chocolate crust, berries, and a thick chocolate shell topped with sea salt.

I know that typically Acai is a type of smoothie bowl, one of my favorite things to get from Playa Bowls is their Nutella Acai bowl and it’s amazing… dare I say these chocolate acai bars are even better… And they are gluten-free for all of you who cannot eat gluten!

A gluten-free sweet infused with CBD, layered with acai, chocolate, crumbly crust, and flaky sea salt… sign me up!! 

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • ¼ cup coconut flour
  • 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate will work I used Clean Simple Eats Vanilla)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp light butter
  • 2 tbsp date syrup
  • ¼ tsp salt

Filling:

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 packet of unsweetened Acai puree

Instructions for the Chocolate Acai Bars:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees
  2. Line an 8×8 square baking dish with parchment paper and combine your crust ingredients 
  3. Using your fingers press down the mixture to line the bottom of the pan, you will likely have some leftover
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes
  5. While the crust is baking allow the acai packet and berries to thaw
  6. Combine them in a bowl and set aside
  7. Once the crust is cool top with the berry mixture and freeze for 10 minutes
  8. Prepare your chocolate by melting the chocolate chips in 3-4 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between
  9. Once fully melted add two full droppers of Purefin Acai CBDa, and pour over top of the bars. Top with pink salt
  10. Freeze for 1-2 hours, slice into 12 and enjoy

Are the chocolate acai bars gluten-free?

Yes, these bars use coconut flour, and all Pure Fin products are gluten-free, just make sure the protein powder you use is gluten-free!

What is CBDa?

Pure Fin is different than many other CBD companies, they use CBDa versus regular CBD. This is a pure, less processed form of CBD which is more easily absorbed by our bodies. The hemp they use is organically grown, and all of their products are gluten-free and non-GMO.

What does CBD do for you?

Cbd can be an aid in many things such as improving sleep, easing discomfort, reducing stress, and supporting focus.

Can you put CBD in baked goods?

CBD can be added into desserts, but it is best not to heat it or else it will reduce the quality, and the CBDa would then become just CBD, you will notice, that in this recipe, I add the oil to the chocolate after it is heated.

What does CBD infused food do to you?

CBD infused food will provide you the same benefits as taking CBD but depending on the dosage, the effects may be less notable. Each chocolate acai bar has 5.5mg of CBDa, but if you were to take a full dropper on your own you would be taking 33mg of CBDa so there would likely be a noticeable difference. 

Are gluten-free sweets healthier?

Not necessarily, typically gluten-free items actually tend to be higher calories than items with gluten in them. This does not make them any healthier or unhealthier.
