High Protein Chocolate Chip Brownie Dip

Dips are all the rage lately it seems, some have cool whip, some have pudding mix, and this one has a bit of protein powder in it! Do you taste it? If you make it right, nope!

What to pair this dip with? Well I made it for my Friendsgiving and I plated it with Oreo thins, pretzels and chocolate covered Ritz. Don’t sleep on chocolate covered Ritz they are really delicious,I personally like the pretzels paired with it the most because of the salty sweet combination!

So let’s chat about what you need for this recipe:

High Protein Chocolate Chip Brown Dip ingredients:
  • Pillsbury Brownie Mix: This is essential, it gives it that brownie flavor that we all adore!
  • Vanilla or Chocolate Protein Powder: I used vanilla, but if you have chocolate that may go even better, I just did not have any
  • Fat Free Greek Yogurt: This gives the creaminess to the dip and it also adds in protein! I used plain, but you can also use vanilla if you want to add in some extra sweetness
  • Fat Free Cream Cheese: This is more difficult to find, I always find it at ShopRite, Wegmans, and at Walmart. If you are unable to find it, just use a reduced fat cream cheese
  • Vanilla extract: Just a splash, I have not tried with any other extracts, but if you want to get creative and try something else like mint or cake batter… let me know how it turns out!
  • Lakanto Sweetener: I love this sweetener, it does not taste artificial, it measures the same as table sugar and it is great for baking!
  • Mini Chocolate Chips: The mini chocolate chips work better for this recipe, but if you only have larger ones don’t hesitate to add them in. I like to add some into the dip and also sprinkle some on top!

  1. To begin, start by microwaving your cream cheese for about 10 seconds to soften it. Do not microwave it long enough to make it super warm or the other items will mix funny
  2. Using a fork or whisk, stir up the cream cheese.
  3. Next add in the yogurt, sweetener, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine and add in the brownie mix, protein powder, and mini chocolate chips.
  5. Stir, add more chocolate chips on top if you want, plate with your favorite dipping items and enjoy with friends and family!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you have to add protein powder into the brownie dip?

Nope you don’t but it does improve the macros for the recipe and it is only a half of a scoop for the entire recipe so I would add it if I were you! If you do not have any just omit it, or add in 1-2 more tbsp of brownie mix.

Can you make this without the brownie mix?

I would not recommend it! The brownie mix gives this dip all of the flavor, however, if you have cake mix in place of brownie mix, use that instead, I am sure it would be amazing.

What can you dip in the brownie dip?

I plated the brownie dip with pretzels, Oreo thins, and chocolate covered ritz. I think these all went really well with the dip. It would also be amazing with fruit, marshmallows, or even rice Krispy treats… yum!
