Storage and reheating
I don’t recommend meal-prepping this entire recipe. If you want to make this for the week and minimize prep time I recommend making the sweet potato chips ahead of time, reheating them for a few minutes then adding the toppings and following the instructions above.
If you want to store the sweet potato chips, make sure you allow them to cool fully, place them in a zip-lock bag and store them at room temperature.
What toppings are good on sweet potatoes?
I love topping my sweet potato with nut butter, my favorite is American Dream Nut Butter, my discount is haleynicolefit. They are also amazing topped with pecans, and brown sugar if you want something sweet. If you want, top it with chili, cheese, and chopped scallions for a savory, loaded sweet potato.
What can I use in place of chips on nachos?
Instead of using tortilla chips, you can make nachos with potato chips or sweet potato chips. Making sweet potato chips homemade is even better, see how below.
What is the secret to great nachos?
You want to make sure you spread out your nachos enough so you can layer each topping evenly on top, this way you are not stuck with plain chips on the bottom. Make sure you are loading it up with lots of cheese and toppings, freshly shredded cheese is also a top tip.
How to make nachos not soggy?
The reason the nacho chips get so soggy is that they are stuck at the bottom sucking in all the juices, you have to spread the nachos evenly on a large sheet pan and top them evenly with toppings.
How do you make homemade sweet potato chips?
Making homemade sweet potato chips is quite simple if you have an air fryer. Use a mandoline to finely slice the potatoes, and soak them in ice water for 30 minutes. Pat dry and air fry a 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until crispy.
Why do you have to soak potatoes before making chips?
Soaking potatoes or sweet potatoes in cold water before frying them brings out the starches making them more crispy.
