What alcohol is best for jello shots?
I personally like using vodka for jello shots, but depending on what flavor you are going for you can use various kinds of alcohol. If you want to make margarita jello shots you could use tequila and lemon-lime jello mix!
How do you track alcohol when tracking macros?
Many get confused when it comes to tracking alcohol and macros. To explain, alcohol is made of up something called ethanol, so the nutrition labels are not incorrect, but when tracking macros it is important to account for them.
Here is an example:
Let’s just say you are having a spiked seltzer that is 100 calories.
We know that:
- Carbs have 4 calories per gram
- Fats fats 9 calories per gram
So if we wanted to track for carbs it is just a simple math problem:
- 100 / 4 = 25 grams of carbs
So you would track the 100-calorie drink as 25 carbs
The same goes if we wanted to track fats:
100 / 9 = 11.1 grams of fat
You would track the 100-calorie drink as 11.1 or round down to 11 grams of fat
OR if you wanted to track both you would divide the total calories in half:
100 / 2 = 50
Then take that number and divide it even further to get your carbs:
50 / 4 = 12.5 grams of carbs
And your fats:
50 / 9 = 5.5 grams of fats
You would track the 100-calorie drink as 12.5 grams of carbs and 5.5 grams of fat if you wanted to track for both!!
I also have an infographic explaining this at the end of this blog.
How long do jello shots stay good for?
You can jeep jello shots for 3-4 days in the fridge. If you let these sit for too long the peach rings will get saturated with the jello shot and they likely will not taste very good!
How much alcohol should you put in jello shots?
I put 1 cup of vodka in this entire recipe so they are not very strong, if you wanted to make them stronger you could replace the cup of cold water with more vodka.
Can you make this recipe kid-friendly?
Yes, you definitely could make these pool party jello shots kid friendly by not adding any vodka in them, I know for a fact the kids would love these!
Can you get drunk off of jello shots?
In this particular recipe, you would likely need a good amount of these to get drunk, but yes you can, anything with alcohol in it can make you drunk upon consumption.
What is the point of a jello shot?
A jello shot is just another fun way to spice up your life with a little cocktail. It is just gelatin mixed with alcohol of some sort, they are pretty easy to make, and fun to enjoy with friends!
How many calories are in each pool party jello shot?
Each jello shot has 53 calories, and 13 carbs, you can easily track these by searching HNFit Pool Party Jello Shots in My Fitness Pal.
