I have been making this recipe since the very beginning of my macro journey and it never gets old! It is so tender and we all know how much I love my crock pot recipes.
I love this on it’s own but if you are really looking to spice it up, adding it to a pan before serving and crisping it up a bit gives it a flavor like no other! It is so good.
What You Need For The Honey Cilantro Chicken:
- 2.3 lbs chicken breast
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp honey (30 grams)
- 1 cup salsa verde (220 mL)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
How To Make The Honey Cilantro Chicken:
- Add all ingredients to a crockpot
- Make sure that the chicken is covered with the salsa
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours
- Shred chicken with two forks
- Serve and enjoy!
What To Serve With:
Burrito Bowl: Serve over white rice with avocado, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, sour cream, and cilantro!
Quesadilla: add to flour tortillas, cheddar cheese and warm until melty!
Greek Bowl: Serve brown rice, pickled onions, feta cheese, tzatziki, and kale!
Crunch wrap: Add it into your cut da carb wrap with pickled jalapenos and cheddar cheese!

Ingredients
- 2.3 lbs chicken breast
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp honey 30 grams
- 1 cup salsa verde 220 mL
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a crockpot
- Make sure that the chicken is covered with the salsa
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours
- Finely chop the fresh cilantro
- When the chicken is done cooking, remove from the crock pot and place into a large bowl. Use two forks to shred the chicken, this will be very easy!! The chicken should basically just fall apart
- Add chopped cilantro to the chicken and combine
- Serve and enjoy!
